Dr. Xin Tu PhD
Title:
Professor at Department of Electrical Engineering & Electronics at the University of Liverpool

Autobiography:
Dr. Xin has been working for many years on interdisciplinary research at the interface of plasma science and chemical engineering directed towards environmental clean-up, fuel and chemical synthesis, and nuclear decommissioning. Significant efforts have been devoted to plasma-catalysis where the combination of cold plasma and heterogeneous catalysis has been used as a promising and emerging low temperature process for the oxidation of gas pollutants (e.g. VOCs and PAHs) in waste gas streams and for the conversion of carbon sources and small molecules into value-added fuels and chemicals such as CH4 activation, CO2 conversion, ammonia synthesis, biomass tar reforming and heavy oils cracking.

Education:
Ph.D in Physics from CORIA CNRS UMR 6614 (Universite de Rouen), France.
Ph.D in Thermal Engineering from Zhejiang University, China.
